OUR PARNTERS SAID..

For us, it was great to see how you could manipulate a relatively small space to

make the environment feel different and bigger. It was also to see the use of

Makaton through the piece, and the use of objects in the drama play.

Although we didn't feel like collaborators in a creative sense, it was great to

work together to enable this opportunity to be experienced by families in

Doncaster, and in particular, our children who have least access to creative

activities like this, through the HAF programme. I felt a sense of collaboration

through the application, and delivery for that programme.

We have established an inclusive and welcoming community programme,

with a growing reputation for impactful, co-produced creative projects for

people of all ages and particularly underserved communities. Our programme

reflects our key organisational values:

•Welcoming Everyone

•Doing the Right Thing

•Creating Culture Together

•Making a Difference

The BFC very much supported these aims through creating an inclusive, warm,

welcoming and creative space for children and families to come together and experience a joyful creative event.

It was great to work with BFC, and the passion and drive Sally and George have for creating wonderful theatrical experiences for children and families. The highlight was seeing the sense of magic and wonder from the children. The engagement of the group was great to witness, including those children who really struggle with focus, but were engaged and enjoying the concept and experience.

AUDIENCE AND USHER FEEDBACK FROM CAST

Sarah Clough- Head of Participation, Cast

We loved working with The Blanket Fort over the Easter Holidays! We work with children and young people with complex learning difficulties, and it is a challenge to find something that all of our children can and will engage in; The Blanket Fort gave us this. They were extremely understanding of our needs and completely adapted their provision to meet them. Our children were so engaged in the production, and it was lovely to see how in awe they were.

The Blanket Fort Team is genuinely a pleasure to work with;

completely child centred, caring and hardworking. We felt a part of the set up all the way through and were welcome to add ideas, suggestions and even join in. We genuinely believe that every child or young person should have the opportunity to be an active citizen and have the highest ambitions for themselves, and it is clear that The Blanket Fort share this vision. Thank you so much for taking the time to get to us and the children we work with, for being so amazingly on the spot adaptable and creating a wonderous space for our children (and staff- as they thoroughly enjoyed it too) and we look forward to working with you in the future.

Thanks for bringing the show to us, it's been a lovely thing to share. It's a

very special project, you should all feel very proud.

The Blanket Fort club are an organisation which provide an immersive

experience to engage students in a key texts, offering fort building and

storytelling workshops. This organisation has worked voluntary with young

people in our SEND school, all the students benefited from the experiences which was one of a kind. The organisation also offered valuable CPD to our staff members which again was one of kind. This organisation provided outstanding program for children which helps to engage and excite young people into a key text which not only does it enhance engagement into reading but inspires the next generation of young creatives .
